Invitations. The first step to plan an adult pool party is preparing the invitations. Be original and creative when creating a related party theme; put in images or drawings of lilos, inflatable beach balls, swimming costumes and bathing suits... anything you can think of. Do not forget to indicate on the cards that guests should come prepared with appropriate swimwear, pool footwear, towel, hat or cap and sunscreen.
Decoration. Decorating a pool party is easy. Collect a few colourful rubber rings, inflatable beach balls and some mats and scatter them around the pool, they will provide a fun and lively touch to the event. In addition, any object that you have at home which makes you think of summer can be used to decorate the party.
If the party continues until the evening a good idea is to place some torches around the pool to well illuminate the area and even give it a hawaiian party theme.
Furniture. Of course, it is essential to have the right furniture for guests to be comfortable at all times. It is best to have hammocks, deck chairs and to serve food and drink some tables will also be needed. Also, make sure you have a safe space in which your guests can leave their belongings.
Food Certainly something that can not be forgotten at a good party is the food. In this case it is best to prepare a lightweight, simple menu such as a buffet containing cold snacks, breaded burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. A very easy and quick idea that is a hit at any summer party.
And for dessert? To cool down in the summer there is nothing better than an assortment or serving of the season's fruits. Prepare delicious fruit skewers and serve other very cold foods like ice cream or jelly to have a greater variety.
Drink. Also, the food must be accompanied by cold drinks to keep guests well hydrated. Prepare a few pitchers of lemonade to quench thirst and other beverages such as fruit slushies, shakes or refreshing cocktails such as margaritas. Make sure also that the guests have chilled water at all times.
Fun and games. Activities and games in the pool are a great way to make the event become a very pleasant and fun experience. Balloon wars or water guns are ideal to keep guests entertained and laughing whilst having fun. You can also place a net in the middle of the pool to play volleyball or prepare games with inflatable beach balls and lilos.
If some of your guests have children and need to be entertained, the best idea to surprise the little ones is to put some inflatable structures in the pool for them to play on, they will love it.
