If you have many large plastic bottles around the house and do not know what to do with them you can always put them to good use in craft activities. Here we show how to make a Christmas tree. - 15 large plastic bottles, green or white
- 60 cm. water tube ½
- A burnt spot light
- 1.5m raffia fibre
- A neckless bottle full of sand
- A domestic strength glue
- Golden or green frost.
To start to make a Christmas tree with plastic bottles you need 15 bottles. Clean them and lay them out on a table. Then fill them with water, up to the narrowest part. Do this for all bottles. This will allow you to make precision lines along the water mark using a permanent marker.
Cut the bottles in downward motion from the mark, i.e. vertical cuts. Leave a space between 1.5 to 2 cm. between each vertical line. Those that curl will simulate the sun's rays. You will need to do this to all 15 bottles.
Then, each of the tree branches must be colored in gold or green and add some dots with paint. Once dry the water tube can be inserted through the bottle tops. Start with the largest.
The final step will be to paint the Christmas star to add color and secure it to the bottle top plastic ring and the raffia passing it through the tube. A tube running end to end securing the base.
Once completed, place the Christmas tree in its stand, formed by a bottle without a neck section filled with sand. As an ornament placed at the foot of the spotlight a garland.
