Fun Activities to do With Kids on Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night can be a lot of fun for every member of the family. Whilst the Bonfire and Fireworks should of course be left to the adults to sort out, there are many fun activities for kids on Bonfire Night. Here at OneHowTo we can give you some ideas of fun things your kids can do for Bonfire Night.
The Importance of Safety
When thinking about how to keep the kids entertained on Bonfire Night, it is important to always keep their safety in mind. You want to make sure that they do not get too close to the fire and they stay near you at all times. If the weather is cool, make sure that they are dressed properly. Make sure that they are clear about the danger of playing too close to the fire.
Your kids will be ready to have fun as soon as you all arrive. When you get to the bonfire, make the kids a smaller fire so that they can roast marshmallows without the risk of getting burned. You can also bring some hot cocoa and they can make their own chocolate beverages.
You can also get them to help you make a Guy Fawkes too!
Fireworks and Sparklers
Fireworks and sparklers are a lot of fun for kids to play with. Sparklers should be lit by the parents and kids should know not to touch them. They can play with every color of sparkler and it really makes their night at the bonfire a lot more fun.
Fireworks should be shot off by adults who know what they are doing. Fireworks are a lot of fun for kids to see. They are always surprised by how cool they look. Most kids are simply in awe of how fireworks blow up. Again, safety should be taken into consideration with fireworks.

Dancing and Music
Your kids will have so much fun if you bring some instruments for them to play. They can sing and dance with each other and they will have such a good time. You can teach them fireside songs and they will be so happy that you brought the instruments along. If you like, you can teach them traditional Bonfire night Songs about Guy Fawkes which you can find out how to play by researching online. If you don't have instruments and just want sing, the lyrics are below:
Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder treason and plot.
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes, guy, t'was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.
By god's mercy he was catch'd
With a darkened lantern and burning match.
So, holler boys, holler boys, Let the bells ring.
Holler boys, holler boys, God save the king.
And what shall we do with him?
Burn him!
Stay Safe and Have Fun
Bonfires can be a world of fun for kids. When you bring the right things and the right attitude, anything can happen. Your kids will be entertained and looking forward to next year's Bonfire Night!
